On September 23, 2026, at approximately 10:57 pm, deputies were dispatched to Spring Brand Road after a motorist reported two bodies in the roadway. Upon arrival, deputies located the bodies of two deceased males who appeared to have been shot. Deputies secured the scene and requested and received assistance from the SC Law Enforcement Division. The Bamberg County Coroner's Office, Thorne Ambulance Service, and the Bamberg City Fire Department also assisted.
The Bamberg County Coroner's Office will provide information regarding the identification of the deceased males.
The Bamberg County Sheriff's Office requested that SLED lead this investigation. Please direct any questions to SLED.
There is no known threat to the community, as this appears to be an isolated incident.
