Re: Scandinavian Race Returns to Bamberg County in 2026 for the 3rd Consecutive Year
BAMBERG, SC (November 2025) – Bamberg County is proud to welcome back the Scandinavian Race for its third year on Saturday, January 24, 2026, bringing runners from across the region together for a unique 40-mile relay adventure inspired by the landscapes and culture of Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland—right here in Bamberg County. This one-of-a-kind endurance event invites runners to lace up, come together, and experience an exhilarating course that celebrates community strength.
Proceeds from the race will once again benefit Three Crosses Outreach in Norway, SC—an organization dedicated to serving families in need throughout the area. Race Director Laura Broussard shared her excitement for another record-breaking year: "Teams consist of one to eight runners, so grab your running buddies and register by December 8, 2025. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for this unforgettable experience," Broussard said. The Scandinavian Relay team is also proud to announce its partnership with the organizers of the Dam to Dam Relay as they launch the Steadfast Relay Series—a collaboration uniting three beloved regional races under one shared mission.
Bamberg County Council Chairwoman Sharon Hammond expressed gratitude and enthusiasm for the race’s continued presence announcing: “We are thrilled to welcome the Scandinavian Race back to Bamberg County for the third year in a row. This event not only brings incredible energy and visitors into our community, but it also supports a meaningful cause. We are proud to be a part of something that uplifts our residents and showcases the very best of our county.”
City of Denmark Mayor Harold Johnson echoed that excitement stating, “Denmark is honored to once again be included in this remarkable relay. The camaraderie, the athletic spirit, and the dedication to giving back are truly inspiring. Events like this strengthen our communities and highlight what makes Bamberg County such a special place.”
