Re: Keep Bamberg County Beautiful Celebrates a Successful Earth Day Cleanup in Denmark
Bamberg, South Carolina (April 2026) — Keep Bamberg County Beautiful (KBCB) proudly celebrates the success of its Earth Day community cleanup held on Thursday, April 23, in the City of Denmark. In partnership with CAM Outreach Ministries, the City of Denmark Councilman Chris Murray, the City of Bamberg Councilman and KBCB Board Member Stephone Glover, the event showcased a powerful display of community pride and service.
Nearly 30 bags of litter, along with multiple discarded tires and debris such as netting, were removed from local neighborhoods—making a visible and meaningful impact on the cleanliness and beauty of the Denmark community.
The cleanup effort saw a strong turnout of dedicated volunteers, including KBCB Board Member Detra Sally and KBCB Director Alisha Moore. As the team worked throughout the neighborhood, something special happened—residents came out of their homes to join in, turning the cleanup into a true community-wide effort.
“This is what community is all about,” said Alisha Moore, Director of Keep Bamberg County Beautiful. “Seeing neighbors step outside to lend a hand, young people getting involved, and leaders working side-by-side shows the heart of Bamberg County. Together, we’re not just picking up litter; we’re building pride, ownership, and a brighter future for our communities.”
City of Bamberg Councilman and KBCB Board Member Stephone Glover emphasized the importance of continued collaboration. “When we come together like this, we show what’s possible. Cleaner streets lead to stronger communities. This is more than a cleanup, it’s a movement.”
City of Denmark Councilman Chris Murray echoed those sentiments, noting the impact on local neighborhoods. “It was inspiring to see so many people step up. This kind of engagement strengthens our city and sets a positive example for future generations.”
Tracy Murray from CAM Outreach Ministries added, “Serving the community is at the heart of what we do. Partnering with KBCB and local leaders allowed us to make a real difference, and we’re proud to be part of something that brings people together for good.”
KBCB continues to encourage community involvement and is actively seeking passionate individuals committed to service in Bamberg County to join its board.
