Re: Denmark Fire Department Recognized as South Carolina Fire Safe Community
Bamberg, South Carolina (October 2025) – The Denmark Fire Department has been recognized as one of only 208 fire departments statewide — and the only department in Bamberg County — to receive the distinguished 2024 South Carolina Fire Safe Community designation from the South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association. The honor was presented during the SC Firefighters Association Conference held in June, 2025.
This recognition highlights the department’s continued commitment to promoting fire safety, prevention, and public education in the community. The SC Fire Safe Community program is designed to encourage fire departments across the state to develop outreach efforts and educational initiatives that help prevent fire-related injuries and losses.
Volunteer Firefighter Timmie Taylor spearheaded the Denmark Fire Department’s participation in the program, coordinating community outreach activities and helping strengthen the department’s prevention and safety efforts. “This achievement represents more than a title — it’s a reflection of our dedication to the people we serve,” said Assistant Chief Paul Eubanks. “The Denmark Fire Department has worked hard to ensure that fire prevention and safety education reach every corner of our community.”
Volunteer Firefighter Timmie Taylor added, “We’re proud to be recognized for our efforts to make Denmark a safer place to live and work. Fire safety education saves lives, and this program helps us continue to make a lasting impact.” The Denmark Fire Department’s recognition underscores the importance of community partnerships, volunteer dedication, and proactive public education in protecting lives and property across Bamberg County.
